Solar PV.
Photovoltaic panels take the energy from the irradiance provided by the sunlight, and covert that energy into DC electricity, which is then changed to AC by the solar inverter, and utilised within the property. In recent years, the technology has become more and more prevalent in the public consciousness, and the installation of PV has never been more cost effective, with the average system costing £3500-5000. The government is also helping to further push this technology, by offering a zero-interest loan for up to £5,000, essentially covering the cost of the majority of the system.
Heat Pump.
Air Source Heat Pumps are a simple, renewable, energy efficient technology that will allow you to reduce your outgoings and lower your carbon footprint. By taking heat from the external ambient air and transferring it to the central heating system through a compression process, the Heat Pump will satisfy the heat demand of your home. Once installed, the system will be able to provide 3-4kW of heat output, for every 1kW of electricity utilised, which can represent a significant saving when compared with fossil fuels.
